Description

Immensely popular and increasingly rare, the Vendo H81D is the ultimate in American vintage products. This model, first manufactured in 1957, is entirely mechanical, and has been fully restored back to the concourse condition of its heyday. It is hungrily sought after by collectors, and consistently highly valued. This model superseded the Vendo 81-A and 81-B and has a larger coin mechanism door that could provide change from a quarter (in nickels) This model also had an antique white painted bottle mechanism, although it is not unusual to find 81-Bs with white mechanisms too. Vibrant, solid, and reliable, one of the major attractions of this cool machine lies in its versatility. Bottles of beer, a variety of fizzy drinks, and even quarter bottles of champagne can be chilled in its refrigerated interior.

The Vendo 81D brings with it a taste of yesteryear – producing the most popular drink for well over half a century. It’s the Real Thing; have yourself a taste of the most valuable brand in the world, and your own piece of American history.

Our skilled engineers go as far as they possibly can to bring these machines back to how they were when they left the factory, building on the high standards that we first set in the 1950s. The cabinet is shot-blast back to bear metal and its liveries are repainted by an experienced classic car sprayer. The shelves are re-anodised and the vending and coin mechanisms are removed and reconditioned. The refrigeration unit is either fully serviced or replaced, and the chrome parts are sent to London chromers. Quality is integral to the history and value of these vintage Coke machines, and no one understands that better than us at the Games Room Company.

Our history with these machines stretches back over half a century – our founder, Reginald Waldersmith, was installing them on US Air Force bases back in the 1950s, not long after their manufacture. Being a relatively new invention at the time put the Coke Machines in unrivalled demand, and Reginald himself was known to occasionally share a drink with the GIs. We’ve been selling these machines since 1962, so know a thing or two about our products! Our showroom will gladly assist you on any questions you may have before or after you purchase any Games Room Company equipment.
