Goodwood Revival celebrates 1966 Win
It was no surprise that the celebrations surrounding the 50th Anniversary of England's World Cup win dominated the proceedings at the Goodwood Revival this year, with attendees being greeted at the main gate by a cheering crowd of suitably attired vintage football supporters, their rattles and whistles adding to the good natured commotion. This raucous welcome set the scene for 3 days of festivities and racing, the highlight of which was a contest featuring no less than eight Ferrari 250 GTOs, each worth at least £25m apiece. Now that's what I call a brave driver....
Luckily The Games Room Company came well prepared for the Anniversary celebrations as we'd brought along one of our fabulous Limited Edition 1966 commemorative football tables, launched just a few weeks ago at Wembley Stadium. It proved a great hit at the show, and in general business was considerably brisker than last year despite our slightly less prominent position within the grounds.
It was great to welcome so many of our old friends and customers on to the stand along with some great new ones, and to the Marilyn Monroe lookalike who kindly posed with the stunning Rockola CD Bubbler that we'd loaned to the De Longhi coffee booth what can I say? You two were made for each other!
