‘Americana’ is one style we are big fans of here at Games Room Company. It’s an iconic style and one that still endures to this day. You know what we mean; stars and stripes, red white and blue, the style of 1920s through to the 50s, diners and bowling alleys, funfairs and proms. It’s an instantly recognisable style and one that is still incredibly popular - check out our Pinterest boards to see exactly what we mean.

That being said, when a style is so well loved and copied, it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd. One thing that would really give a 1950s style room an edge would be a legitimate, genuine vintage decor from that time. Vintage Neon Signs

Vintage decor doesn’t come more sparkling than a neon sign. Since neon was first used for advertising in the early 20th century, it has become a lasting image of the big cities of the USA; even back in the 1950s, the streets of NYC and other cities were glittering with neon signs showing off famous brands, or alerting people to the pharmacies and gas stations all around. We have a stunning collection of neon signs that we carefully restored to be in full working order, and you can take your pick from a well known brand or an informational message.

Vintage Fairground Signs

Slightly more rustic and with bags of charm, our fairground signs will command attention. Originally used to promote fairground rides and stalls in the travelling fairs of the 1940s and 50s, they now add their whimsical, bright colours and cheery
phrases to your home. You can choose what message you’d like to greet your visitors. Will you go for a promise that in your home there’s ‘fun for all’, or will you choose some positive affirmation - ‘outstanding’!

Vintage Petrol Pump

If you’re looking for a real showstopper that will add a vintage atmosphere to a room (or back garden!) our vintage Shell petrol pump will fit the bill nicely! This is a real relic from the 1920s onwards, where gas stations across the USA had these pumps for customers to attend to their Cadillacs. These petrol pumps were made in Massachusetts in the early 20th century, and have been hand restored to maintain their illuminating yellow colour, and to make sure that their authentic, milk glass lamps still shine brightly. A statement piece if ever we saw one, and something that will take your space straight back to the era of rock ‘n’ roll!
